Think of kimbap as sushi’s Korean cousin.
This one is chamchi (tuna) kimbap, but you can get other meats and fish rolled up with your egg, carrot, radish, and sesame leaf, and Spam, generally for under the equivalent of $3. I’ve also had rolls with lotus roots and cucumber and you can just barely see the slivers of fish cake here. There’s just as many variations on this as there are little mom & pop shops to buy it in. It’s really fun to watch it being assembled for you.
The reason I can’t quite compare it to sushi? Everything is cooked!
